Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian actress and model, who acts in Telugu and Tamil films. Samantha was raised in Chennai and pursued a career in modelling during her late teens. Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born to a Telugu father Prabhu and a Malayali mother Ninette Prabhu and was brought up in a typical middle-class household, She became the second actress after Revathi to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the same year, for films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega.
